Skeleton leaf pendant

This is my second Acrylic and patinated metal pendant i have made in the studio for my reflective practice project.

patinated metal was inspired by Stepahnie hopkins work.
and acrylic piece was inspired by the decay and eroding in nature.

 This pedant inspired by a decaying and eroding leaf, skeleton form and patinated metal for the eroding look. Clear acrylic laser cutting, with patinated copper.

Real Organic Leaves | Laser cut

Today i experimented on the laser cutting machine, exploring leaves. I wanted to cut out a detailed image of a skeleton form from a leaf itself, but this didn't work as well as i had hoped, but i still like how the first one turned out.

Decaying | Eroding Butterfly

Found this beautiful butterfly at my partners nans greenhouse, amazing how it still had all its colour.

Brooch

Handmade brooch, Patinated metal with an purple acrylic setting on-top, the brooch is inspired by the beauty in the decay and eroding  of nature. I patinated the metal making it look like it is eroding, inspired by Stephanie Hopkins jewellery designs.

  I adore her work, its a big influence on my work, as there aren't many jewelers who are inspired by eroding and decay like i am, generally people dislike decay and eroding because it can be seen as ugly and negative.

Studio work.

Been in the studio making pendants and brooches. Setting bezels around my acrylic pieces, one of my inspiration's is Stephanie Hopkins, she's a jeweller and metal smith designer & maker. Her work is based on organic forms eroding and decaying.
